ULB polls: Sumbal records highest turnout till 2 pm

Over 2277 people have cast their votes for the elections of the municipal committee Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday till 02:00 pm. The percentage of polling till 2 pm in the second phase of urban local bodies polls was recorded 28.64 and 5.18 percent respectively in Sumbal and Watergam areas of north Kashmir.

In Sumbal, officials said, the male votes were recorded 1203 while female votes recorded stood at 1074 taking the total tally to 2277.

In Watergam officials said that 14 votes were cast till 2 pm. All the votes were polled by male registered voters and no female turned to any of the polling booths.

Reports said that in Islamabad 311 votes and in Langate 21 votes were polled till 2 pm.
