Chinar Volleyball Premier League concludes at Baramulla

The final match was a close finish and it was Manasbal Warriors who lifted the Chinar Volleyball 2018 Trophy.

In order to promote sports culture in the valley and to provide an opportunity to the youth to showcase their talent, the Army conducted Chinar Volleyball Premier League at Baramulla from 2 October to 11 October. The tournament witnessed participation of ten teams from Baramulla, Manasbal, Durgmulla, Seer, Qaziabad, Badgam and Tangdhar. 

All the matches were keenly contested and the final match was played between Super Challengers and Manasbal Warriors with tremendous zeal and effervescence drawing cheers from the crowd.

The Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, was the chief guest on the valedictory function which was also graced by the GOC Dagger Division, DC Baramulla, SSP Baramulla and district Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra. 

The chief guest felicitated the winners who performed well during the event and also appreciated the efforts put in by the both the finalists. Speaking on the occasion, the Chinar Corps Commander encouraged the youth to actively participate in various sports competitions for which the Army, civil administration and the civil society have joined hands to create a conducive atmosphere in the valley. The Chinar Corps Commander also hoped that some of the players will find a place in the state and national teams in future as well.
