Ranveer Singh and the director of '83 movie, Kabir Khan were snapped at a popular cricket ground in Mumbai to kickstart the prep for the movie. Ranveer will play the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the film.Ranveer Singh's calendar is full with multiple projects in his kitty. The actor ended the year 2018 on a high note with his blockbuster outing Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty. Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his first release of 2019, that is Gully Boy, where he plays the role of a street rapper. In 2017, Ranveer announced that he is all set to star in the much awaited biopic based on India's win at 1983 World Cup.
In the film, the talented actor will be playing the role of the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. People have been waiting to see Ranveer in this interesting role and finally, preparations have been started by the actor. A while back, Singh along with the director of '83, Kabir Khan was spotted at a popular cricket ground in Mumbai. The actor donned a sporty look wearing a blue shirt and black eans with a grey zipper jacket. He teamed it up with a pair of grey-framed sunglasses, white cap and green sneakers. Ranveer and Kabir were seen interacting with each other and walking towards the ground.

Last year, it was revealed that '83 will be hitting the screens on April 5, 2019.
When Ranveer was asked about the film, he had said, "I was born at the time when cricket was big time. When Kabir Sahab had come to me and said that there will be a film on 83, I was like finally. And when he was narrating it to me, I was like woooh. It is not a story just about cricket but a human story."
