‘Suvidha-19’, one-day career fair on higher edu and training avenues at SJEC
Mangaluru: St. Joseph Engineering College hosted a career fair on higher education and training avenues under the title ‘Suvidha-19’, which is a one-day career fair, exclusively for the students and alumni of the college, here on Saturday, February 9.
The dignitaries on the dais were Director of SJEC, Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Assistant Director Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Principal Dr. Rio D’Souza, Chief R&D Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis, Collaboration Officer Diana Monteiro, and Training Officer Flona Shawn Soans.
Addressing the gathering Principal Dr. Rio D’Souza said, “We at SJEC have taken collaboration very seriously, to make sure that the staff and students get exposure to the outer world. One of the definitions of success is doing the right thing at the right place and at a right time. But many a time a wrong opportunity comes at the right time and right opportunity comes at a wrong time”.
Meanwhile, he gave instances of his academic period and said, “If I would put more efforts I would get around 93-94 percent in PUC and probably would have got an admission in NITK. I regret that all though I’m happy here. My message to the students here is don’t let off the opportunities”.
Around 17 vendors namely JIREH PATHWAY ABROAD, CoreEL Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd, Planet Education, NIIT Bejai Mangalore, STORM Overseas Education, IELTS @ STORM Overseas Education, ABHIJNYA EDUCATION PRIVATE LIMITED, IIHT Ltd, The Chopras, ACE Engineering Academy, Wizdom Ed, Santa Monica Study Abroad Pvt Ltd, Mangalore, IDP Education, IDP – IELTS, ILLINOIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Educaro India, and ROYAL IAS ACADEMY, participated in the career fair.
Representatives from each vendor were present to provide necessary information on various services that they provide along with offerings for the students in areas like higher education within the country and abroad, learning foreign languages, preparing for competitive exams like TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, IAS and many more.
Collaboration Officer Diana Monteiro welcomed the gathering.
