Lok Sabha polls: RTMNU to reschedule 200 exam papers
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has rescheduled about 200 papers of examinations planned in second and third phase. These papers were scheduled for April 10, 11 and 12. April 11 is the polling date for the region in Lok Sabha elections, a large number of colleges may be requisitioned for installing polling booths.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole stated that the new dates will be announced in three to four days. Rescheduling of examination is necessary as many employees and teachers of affiliated colleges are assigned election duties. They are required to reach the polling stations a day before the polling and return only after submitting the sealed EVM machines and other relevant documents.
The examinations of B A, B Com, B Sc, BE, B Pharm are scheduled during this period, and time table already announced by the University. The University conducts examinations at about 180 centres. Although exact number of colleges which will be requisitioned and number of staff which will be assigned election duty, is not known, the University is planning for fresh dates for these papers of April 10, 11 and 12. This is followed by Ramnavami and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar birth anniversary. The examinee, thus will get a gap of almost five days.
