Amit Shah to remain BJP chief till 2019-end?
Once Amit Shah became the home minister in Modi cabinet, there was a buzz that he would soon resign from the party chief’s post. But, now it turns that Amit Shah will stay as the party chief at least till the end of this year. During this period, he will strategise for the party for the upcoming elections in Maharashtra, Delhi, Jharkhand and Haryana.
These elections are very important for the BJP and the BJP wants to come back to power in the three states where it is in power now and wants to wrest Delhi from the Aam Admi Party. The party feels that with his kind of drive, energy, motivation, Amit Shah will be the best bet. Amit Shah has a rare connect with the party workers and can motivate them to outperform themselves.
But the BJP is completely against one person holding more than one posts. It also does not want the contralisation of power in one hand. Hence, by October, the party would find a successor to Amit Shah and he is likely to assume charge after October. For about two months, Amit Shah will assist the newly elected president before the later is completely on his own.
