Kiwi coach hits out at Stormers' tactics
Cape Town - If the Stormers keep going at their current rate, they'll get nowhere in this year's Super Rugby competition.
That is the view of Sunwolves assistant coach Scott Hansen, who spoke to Netwerk24 after his side's 31-18 defeat to the Stormers at Newlands over the weekend.
The Stormers kept alive their playoff hopes with the win over the Japanese outfit, but failed to gain crucial a try-scoring bonus point.
The hosts scored four tries but allowed to Sunwolves to cross the whitewash twice which meant the bonus point for scoring three tries more than the opposition was not obtained.
New Zealander Hansen was not impressed by the Stormers' efforts: "I want to challenge the Stormers. They'll never get a bonus point by trying to slow the game down. With that approach they won't go far.
"At times, the Stormers had the opportunity to up the tempo and they opted against it. I'm not saying they're a bad team, but it was clear that they tried to slow the game down."
The Stormers face the Sharks at Newlands on Saturday and a win will likely earn them a playoffs spot, however they will likely finish eighth on the overall standings and face the daunting task of travelling to Christchurch to face the Crusaders.
