It was the first time Nigeria scored more than once at a World Cup since 1999. In the process, the Barcelona forward became the first Nigerian player to score at two FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments since Rita Nwadike. 2 – Asisat Oshoala (2015 & 2019) has become just the second Nigerian to score in two different Women's World Cup tournaments after Rita Nwadike (1995 & 1999).
