Much to the appreciation of the common people, the awe-inspiring 10-storeyed government hospital is being regarded as the second biggest hospital in India right after the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The sprawling hospital had commenced its operations during the month of February 2019 with 47 regular doctors and 261 trained nurses and is now well-equipped with advanced MRI, Doppler fetal monitor, Orthopantomogram machine, CT scanners, and more. Moreover, all the residents of Sikkim will be entitled to receive free treatment at the hospital and will no longer find the need to travel to the prominent metropolitan cities for first-class services.
