Mahbubnagar: Excise Minister, Devarkadra MLA release water into Rachala Lake
Mahbubnagar: Excise Minister Srinivas Goud along with Devarkadra MLA Ala Venkateshwara Reddy released water into Rachala Lake in Rachala village of Addakal mandal in Devarkadra constituency of Mahbubnagar district on Wednesday.
With heavy rains lashing the district this season, the Rachala rivulet, which is at a short distance from the main lake in Rachala village, has been flowing to its fullest level. However, the lake in the village was kept empty with no major inflows into the lake. Having learnt this, the Devarkadra MLA along with the villagers charted out a plan to lay a double pipeline from the rivulet to the lake and lift the water from the rivulet into to the lake and fill it for the purpose of irrigation as well as for drinking and fishing rearing purposes.
"Unfortunately, even though we have been seeing the Rachala rivulet flowing down each year, we were unable to take advantage all these years. However, with the initiation of the people of the Rachala village, a proposal to set up a small lift was brought and it was immediately implemented. Today, it feels really great that we are able to do whatever can to provide water to the villagers from the sources available to us," said Ala Venkateshwar Reddy.
The Excise Minister said that it was really a great pride to see that even the people in small villages like Rachala were eagerly coming forward to utilise all the resources available to them. "The government is always with those who are coming forward with positive ideas and suggestions for the development of villages. The government is ready to go to any extent to support and fund such projects that help the poor in the rural villages," said Srinivas Goud.
