Sajith ensures batta and food allowances to policemen
Batta travelling allowance of Rs. 20,000 and food allowances to all police officers would be granted within 72 hours after becoming President, New Democratic Front (NDF) Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa said.
He made this observation at a public rally held in the Katugampola Electorate of the Kurunegala District recently.
He said he knew the hardships endured by police officers.
“I feel the hunger of all well, hence, I shall take steps to solve the shortage of food items through the expansion of the food production process countrywide. By introducing new technology, farmers would be encouraged towards the cultivation of food crops adequately to meet the food demand within the country,” Minister Premadasa said. He also said all small-scale businessmen would be granted with easy term bank loans to improve their business. He added that homeless families in the country would be provided with decent dwelling places of their own with the government patronage.
“Irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences, all citizens would be provided with necessary facilities to enjoy their lives ensuring national security too,” Presidential candidate Premadasa said.
“I shall give up all luxuries of my personal life for the sake of poor masses of this country as my sole aim and objective is to develop this country with everything that is needed for the welfare of common people,” he said.
He added that his political opponents are spreading false rumours against him, but he has the courage to face all challenges when common people place their trust continuously in him in this hour of need.
The rally was organised by Buddhasasana and Wayamba Development Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera on Sunday (3). United National Party General Secretary Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam also spoke.
