Uddhav Thackeray government has its second tough test today after winning the majority resolution in the assembly.  There is an election in the house today for the post of Assembly Speaker.  According to the rules, the assembly speaker is elected by secret ballot, but in the new government, the ruling party can propose open voting this time.  The strategists of the ruling party are making plans that the election of the Speaker should be open like a vote of confidence so that there is no scope for any MLA to erupt.  On Saturday, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that the election of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will also be held by open voting.

The proposal can put the benches
According to information received from the sources, before the election of the Speaker of the Assembly on Sunday, the ruling party will propose in the House that the proposed election for the post of the Speaker of the Assembly be held by open voting instead of secret voting.  For this, the ruling party can refer to the order of the Supreme Court, in which the Supreme Court has said to not allow the purchase and sale of MLAs in the state and a fair environment in the Assembly house.  Sources say that if the MLAs of the ruling party support the motion of open voting, then open voting may take place on the basis of majority decision.

Uddhav said after passing the floor test, I am a man who is fighting in the field, tightened on BJP - the way of protest is not right

There are two things in it for the ruling party.  One, he has a majority of 169 MLAs and NCP's Dilip Valsay Patil sits on the chair of the pro tem speaker.  If the ruling party proposes open voting then the pro tem speaker can resort to voice vote for it and can approve this proposal on the basis of majority.
