Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with people associated with the sports world through video conference in the wake of Corona virus catastrophe. During this, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and many others were involved.

40 sports celebrities took part in the video call. Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju also joined this conference. A sports ministry source told PTI on condition of anonymity, "12 of these were given three minutes to speak and present their views."

When Ganguly was asked on Friday morning, he said, 'Yes, I will join the Hon'ble Prime Minister through video call, but I cannot tell you what will be discussed.' Ministry sources said that the players have been requested to spread awareness about social distancing through their social media pages.

The source said, "The Prime Minister not only talked to the cricketers, but he also spoke to sports personalities from other regions. Originally this thing had to be ensured that these players could give people a message to stay indoors and stay safe. The PM knows that players can contribute a lot in bringing awareness against Corona. This is a fight that can be fought in unison and there is no better way than players to reach people. '
