Kuldeep Yadav Reveals What The Head Coach Anil Kumble Advised Him During His Test Debut
The 25-year-old Indian left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav recently revealed how the former Indian Head Coach Anil Kumble helped him during his Test debut in 2017.
At the age of 22-year-old, Kuldeep Yadav made his international debut during the 2017 Dharamsala Test against Australia in March 2017.
Recalling his memory of his Test debut, Kuldeep recently claimed that the former Indian leg-spinner and then Indian Head Coach Anil Kumble helped him a lot of during his first series. Before his Test debut, Kumble told the young spinner to take five wickets in his first Test. Nervous Kuldeep then answered that he would do it definitely.
In that debutant Test match, while Kuldeep picked up four wickets in the first innings, he finished with the wicketless bowling figures in the next Australian innings.

Talking more about his successful international career, especially limited-overs career, Kuldeep also credited the former Indian World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni. He never felt the absence of his coach during Dhoni’s presence in the limited-overs matches due to his powerful advice. However, Dhoni hasn’t played a recognised cricket match since July 2019.
Kuldeep further added that Dhoni supported the youngsters a lot of, including the wrist-spinners like him and leg-spinner . The chinaman also credited the present Indian captain for providing crucial support to the youngsters.
Kuldeep Yadav has played six Tests, 60 ODIs and 21 T20Is where the chinaman has taken 24, 104 and 39 wickets respectively. He is also the only Indian bowler to manage two ODI hat-tricks.
