Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich refused Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer for one reason
Chelsea had the chance to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window but Roman Abramovich refused to sanction a deal because of the striker's demands, according to reports. But the Gabon international could have been lining up for Frank Lampard's side according to the Daily Mail, who say Chelsea were sounded out about a mid-season move for the frontman. The 31-year-old's Emirates future is uncertain with less than a year remaining on his contract. And according to the Mail, Arsenal's London rivals received contact from representatives of Aubameyang about a potential swoop. Ultimately, however, the African wanted a wage that would have made him the highest-paid player in Chelsea's history.
