CM Nitish Kumar inaugurates the buildings of Bihar Agricultural University
Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inaugurated the administrative building and educational-cum-laboratory buildings of Bihar Agricultural University , Sabour in Bhagalpur district . Nitish inaugurated via video conference from Nek Samvad, located at Anne Marg in Patna. During his address on the occasion, Nitish said that today along with the main administrative buildings, other buildings have been inaugurated, on which Rs 268 crore has been spent. Along with the administrative building, 3 laboratory buildings, hostels for girl students, housing for scientists and university personnel have been constructed. All laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Smart class facilities have also been provided.
In the university buildings, along with rain water harvesting, solar panels are being installed on the roofs of the buildings. The Chief Minister said that 89 percent of the population lives in the village in Bihar. Agriculture is the basis of livelihood of 76 percent of Bihar's population. He said that along with increase in production of paddy, wheat, maize, fruits, vegetables, fish and egg production has also increased in the state. The Chief Minister said that steps have also been taken to encourage students towards agricultural education. Since the year 2012, an amount is being given for the scholarship of two thousand rupees per month for agricultural graduate studies and Rs. 6 thousand per year for purchasing books.
