Bhubaneswar An MLA from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Odisha plows his field on his own and plants paddy along with other workers. Manohar Ranadhari, a three-time MLA from Dabugaon constituency in Nawrangpur district, is spending seven hours a day on his 25-acre farm due to rain-friendly conditions. He starts working on his farm with his wife at five in the morning. His wife is a government employee and leaves office at ten o'clock. The MLAs keep working in their fields till the forenoon. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik have praised Ranadhari's dedication towards farming.
Randhari said, "I am doing farming even before I become an MLA. My father passed away last year, so I am active this time. Though I work as a leader for social service but farming is my profession and source of income. ”The MLA said that he works two months every year in his Majhiguda village in Nawrangpur district. . He said that only farming can feed during the covid-19 epidemic. He appealed to the youth to focus on farming. He says that he earns seven lakh rupees every year from paddy and maize farming.
